Alamo Heights ISD trustees will weigh tax rate election Thursday

Alamo Heights Independent School District trustees on Thursday will consider asking voters this fall to raise its property tax rate by two cents per $100 — a move meant to stave off cuts to school programs as the district grapples with a budget shortfall of $3.3 million, said Superintendent Kevin Brown. My question is this. Is this a tax increase to cover the bonds that were approved by voters last year? Or is it really an education shortfall? Or both? Education shortfalls may be a smokescreen to make it easier for voters to accept.

Sorry I voting No on this one. Enough is enough. Cut the spending! Stick to Reading writing, math and science. Stop the bonds and you will not have the debt.
