Alamo Heights Rotary Club Makes Donation

Written by Rick Berchin on .

At their May 29, 2012, meeting at the Barn Door Restaurant, Rick Fink, President of Alamo Heights Rotary Club, presented a donation check for $3000 to Felicia Hilliard, Program Director of the Survivor Outreach Services (SOS).

The purpose of the SOS is to deliver on the Army's commitment to Families of the Fallen. Located on Fort Sam Houston, the SOS provides services and support to over 3000 surviving family members in south central Texas. The donation from the Alamo Heights Rotary will be used to create a reference library of books on grief when the SOS moves to a new building this summer. Reading the words of other grieving survivors can help individuals focus their thoughts and feelings, and help them realize they are not alone. Mrs Hilliard expressed her sincere appreciation for the donation and how important it was to have the community involvement in support of the families of Soldiers who have sacrificed so much.
