lookingahead.jpg93 citizens, 30 design professionals, all of City Council, and 8 city staff volunteered their time and gathered on Saturday, January 17 at the Alamo Heights High School Cafeteria to help plan the future of Alamo Heights. The process centered on ten common themes that were identified from the community neighborhood meetings as being of particular interest in terms of the physical design of the community. These ten themes were represented at ten design tables. The facilitators then lead the participants in a focused conversation to determine themes, areas of concern and insights. We'll feature one per week, this week is the Great Streets.

Alamo Heights Has a Memorial Park!

Written by Administrator on .

Did you know we had a memorial park already? Thanks to AH resident Sarah Reveley for alerting us on this. She stopped at that park on Austin Highway and Eaton, a small marker says it was dedicated to Chief Albert Earl in 1964 and known as Albert Earl Plaza.  A marker next to it is in memory of James Starkey who passed away in 1987. A neighbor said the Optimists own the park. Can we add markers for Paula Loyd and Officer Acuna, and perhaps update the landscaping? Any additional information on this park and how we can make it better would be appreciated. See the photos and please comment on this story.
