FED UP I am with you, the median needs to go. If you ask me what drives me crazy it is the MEDIAN!!!! It does not work. It is valuable land that prevents parking. The median always looks trashy. It also prevents good traffic flow in the morning and afternoon.

The City is responsible for Castano but no one ever challenged the school about charging for parking. We should because the liability is ours. The school doesn't lease the parking spaces from the city.

I want that blasted median on Vanderhoven gone and thought it would be by now. The school should use its land for parking or not let some of the kids drive.
Too many of them have cars these days and the neighborhoods pay for it in more ways than just maintaining the streets while the school gets the cash. This is just wrong!

So are you saying, a street (like Castano) which was just paved and striped by city, the School District is now going to charge people to park on ?

"new to AH" has raised a very good point, how can the School District charge students to park on public streets??? The streets are city streets and our tax dollars pay to maintain them. The School District does own the streets.

We are new to AH (and first time blogger) can some one tell why the School District charges for parking permits to park on a city street. Is that a City policy? I have been told in order to park around the High school (which are public streets) you have to purchase a permit from the district. This seems very unfair. Should I contact my Council member. We live over by the pool can some tell who the Council member is for this area. Thank you.
