Temporary Road Closure - N. New Braunfels

Beginning at 8:00 am January 23rd. through the 25th of January road work is planned for N. New Braunfels at Terrell. Utility work performed by contract for the city of Terrell Hill are unsatisfactory and will require additional repairs. While work is being performed traffic closers will be set at Elizabeth and N. New Braunfels as well as Terrell and N. New Braunfels.

While east bound Harrigan will be required to turn south onto N. New Braunfels to Geneseo or continue south to Burr rd. North bound N. New Braunfels will be detoured east onto Geneseo.

Proposed Residential Design Standards Amendments - Input Sought

At the City Council Meeting on Monday, January 9th , a presentation of proposed amendments to Chapter 3 of the Code of Ordinances of the Zoning Code (also known as the “Residential Design Standards” related specifically to SF-A and SF-B standards) for single-family districts, was given by Brian Chandler, Planning and Development Services Director. The next step is adoption of these amendments which will be considered by Council at the next meeting to be held on January 23rd. The Council  and staff continue to want your input on these amendments. All proposed amendments and recommendations information is posted on the city’s website. Citizen's Fire & Police Academy

The Alamo Heights Fire and Police Departments are excited to announce the 2012 Citizens Emergency Services Academy. The Citizens Emergency Services Academy will be held at the Alamo Heights City Council Chambers on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  Classes will begin on January 12, 2012 continuing for twelve (12) weeks and ending March 29, 2012.

The purpose of the Citizens Emergency Services Academy is to facilitate a better understanding, through education and experience, between citizens and the fire and police departments.   A variety of course topics will be taught by fire fighters, paramedics and police officers that promise to be engaging and provide plenty of opportunity for hands-on experience.

The Alamo Heights Citizen’s Emergency Services Academy welcomes all residents and business owners (including their employees) of Alamo Heights that are over the age of eighteen (18) years old and having no prior felony convictions.  Persons interested in registering should contact either Corporal Tim Barlow at (210) 832-2201 or Debbie McPheeters at (210) 822-6433. Water Restrictions Lifted - Now Stage 1

Because recent rains have raised the aquifer level above 650 for 10 consecutive days, the City has lifted Stage 2 Water Restrictions and reinstated Stage 1 Restrictions.

Free Mulch

Temporary Road Closure - Montclair

As part of the ongoing utility upgrades a new 6” water main will be installed on 200 block of Montclair.

Starting on Monday, December 12th through Friday, December 23rd (two-weeks) the 200 block of Montclair and the intersection of Montclair at Ashcorft will be temporarily closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Residents will have access to their property.
