Wilanna Bristow has gone home. A native Texan, Wilanna was the only daughter of Maurine O'Banion Blanton and Albert Olan Blanton, both of whom preceded her in death. Born in Port Arthur, Texas on September 9, 1934, Wilanna and her family moved to Lockhart, Texas, where she spent the remainder of her childhood. When she was four years old, her mother sat her down at the family sewing machine. She took to it as if she'd always known how to sew. Rummaging through her grandmother's collection of laces, ribbons and fabrics, she fashioned doll clothes that were one-of-a-kind. (read more).

White was born in a farm house near McCrory, Arkansas, on the 10th of April 1924, where the White family farmed since the 1850s. White's father died during the Depression, and he handled his share of farm chores while he attended a small school and developed a lifelong habit of reading, beginning with the Bible. (read more).

Born September 10, 1923, in San Antonio, he was the middle son of Frederick Julius Tips, Sr., and Margaret Chambers Tips. He was a great-great grandson of Julius Conrad Tips, who was born in Elberfeld, Germany, and emigrated to Texas in 1849 with close friend Eduard Steves and family aboard the ship Neptune, departing from Dusseldorf.
